The Hobbit

The Hobbit is a book I have clearly known about for a long time but never got around to reading. I finally decided to read it and follow with the Lord of The Rings.

I have not seen any of the movies or read any of these books. I mentioned that to someone and they were surprised I had managed to avoid them this long. I know the general gist of them as they are part of the zeitgeist but nonetheless the vague notions of a thing and the real thing are quite different.

I really enjoyed this book. It was different than I was expecting. I think I was expecting something much more epic and instead it was quite contained and thoroughly readable. It made me excited to read the rest of the books.
